NOW ENROLLING FOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS FOR 2009
WHOLISTIC NUTRITION PROGRAM
This 280 hour program will certify graduates in the principles of nutrition from both an Eastern and Western perspective. See "The Programs" pages for details.
Professional Level Wholistic Nutrition Program began February 28th, 2009.
AMMA BODYWORK THERAPY PROGRAM
This 1000 hour program will train students for career in wholistic healthcare, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Asian Bodywork Therapy. This program enrolls only 12-16 students so register early. See "The Programs" pages for details.

AMMA BODYWORK THERAPY APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
This apprenticeship style program will train students for career in wholistic healthcare, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Asian Bodywork Therapy, with Rylen Feeney, a nationally certified senior instructor in Portland, OR.

Receive a supervised Amma Bodywork treatment from students in their final semesters of

CHEN STYLE T'AI CHI CHUAN

This class will be devoted to learning the 19 movement form of Chen T'ai Chi. This is a simplified form developed by grandmaster Chen Xiaowang to serve as a powerful introduction to the ancient Chen style T'ai Chi Chuan. Chen style is characterized by spiral movements and combines soft, energetic flow with sharp explosive power.

EIGHT BROCADES QIGONG

Developed during the 12th century, Eight Brocades excels at strengthening the body, especially the back, legs, shoulders and neck while helping to balance vital functions and build the immunity. Each of the eight individual movements strengthens a specific Chinese Organ Channel. The form can be done as a series or practiced individually to focus on particular organs or body parts. One of the most versatile forms, it can also be practiced seated or standing.

Students will learn a full basic Swedish massage. Additional Asian bodywork techniques for spine, neck, shoulders, hips, low back and chest will be practiced. Finally, the class will cover some visceral, organ, breast and groin work. This class is open to all bodywork therapists and is an excellent class to fulfill NCCAOM PDA and NCBTMB CE requirements.

Explore foundations of wholistic health and whole food nutrition. The class will look at food groups (carbohydrates, dairy, meat products, non-meat protein sources, fats, sweeteners, chemical additives, GMOs, etc.). The classes integrate the most current theory and knowledge of holistic nutritional concepts with that of Traditional Chinese Medicine theories and energetics. This East/West approach allows for greater understanding of individual needs. The importance of seasonal, local & organic foods will be detailed. Additionally the class will discuss food politics and how to encourage informed consumerism. Lunch & snacks provided both days.

BUILDING A PRACTICE

This class is designed to teach the nuts and bolts of building a strong and successful practice. Students will cover topics from marketing to taxes and will be required to create a detailed business packet including: advertising, office policies, HIPAA and other legal documents.

Broaden your knowledge of Chinese Formulas in this class. Rylen will cover a wide selection of classic and patent formulas for a myriad of patterns and indications, as well as, formula categories (i.e. settle shen, treat bi syndrome, expel wind, etc.). This is an excellent class to fulfill NCCAOM PDA requirements.

ASIAN FOUNDATIONS AND PRINCIPLES
This didactic lecture class introduces students to the founding principles of
Chinese Medicine including: Taoist cosmology, Yin/Yang theory, Qi functions, Five Element Theory, Eight Principles, and the 72 Channel system. Watch for dates.
1,000 HANDS BUDDHA QIGONG

CHEN STYLE T'AI CHI CHUAN

This weekend workshop will begin Friday night with exercises in silk reeling and standing
post Qigong. These are developmental exercises for generating Qi and learning how to

JADE WOMAN QIGONG

Jade Woman is a healing qigong form that addresses the specific needs of a woman's body. It focuses on increasing the circulation of blood and energy while lifting the spirits and harmonizing the emotions. Practice of the form reduces symptoms of various gynecological disorders.
